Grandfamilies & Kinship Support Center brief highlighting DC's Grandparent & Close Relative Caregiver Subsidy Program. DC is one of the only jurisdictions in the US that funds and provides its own monthly financial assistance to low-income relative caregivers of children. Caregivers can receive these monthly subsidies, averaging over $600 per child per month, in addition to other federal supports, such as TANF.
