This resource has the latest national data, along with an overview of the strengths and challenges of the families.  This tool can be very helpful when working with the media, policymakers and other decisionmakers. Grandfamilies & Kinship Support Center brief highlighting DC's Grandparent & Close Relative Caregiver Subsidy Program. DC is one of the only jurisdictions in the US that funds and provides its own monthly financial assistance to low-income relative caregivers of children. Caregivers can receive these monthly subsidies, averaging over $600 per child per month, in addition to other federal supports, such as TANF.

Provides an overview of housing issues faced by grandfamilies, existing federal laws that can help, housing specifically for grandfamilies, and recommended action areas and projects for creating additional affordable housing opportunities developed during Generations United's first national expert housing symposium specifically for grandfamilies (2005).
