On October 11, 2023, the Grandfamilies & Kinship Support Network: A National Technical Assistance Center (Network) hosted a webinar discussing the new federal rule allowing for kin specific licensing standards and rolling out a new national set of recommended standards.  The webinar recording features Network Director, Ana Beltran, subject matter experts, Heidi Redlich Epstein and Marina Nitze, Think of Us Founder and CEO Sixto Cancel and Senior Director, Strategic Policy Initiatives, Steven Olender, and David E. Simmons with Network partner organization the National Indian Child Welfare Association (NICWA).  The webinar also features statements of support for the final rule from Ross Hunter, Secretary, Washington State Department of Children, Youth & Families, Tricia Howell, Child Welfare Director, Oklahoma Human Services, Julie Barbosa, Chief Deputy Director for Strategy and Performance Execution, Illinois Department of Children and Family Services, and Demetrius Starling, Senior Deputy Director, Children Services Administration, Michigan.
