Notification Of Relatives

In October 2008, the Fostering Connections to Success and Increasing Adoptions Act unanimously became federal law. Among the many provisions affecting grandfamilies is a requirement that states identify and notify relatives when children are removed from their parents' homes. States are required to implement these identification and notice requirements or they risk losing federal foster care monies through Title IV-E of the Social Security Act.
